WHAT SIMILAR AND DIFFERENT
Both of the shooter from Las Vegas and Texas is that they neither had a clear motive for their actions. They both happen within such a small time frame to each other. There is a difference in how much people were killed and injured in the shootings. There was also difference the shooter backgrounds with the Paddock having no criminal record and Kelley had been court marshaled. These act are very different and done by different people.
TEXAS CHURCH SHOOTING
This shooting took place in First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. There was 26 people killed, children and pregnant women among them. The shooter is Devin Patrick Kelley, age 26, who was later committed suicide in his vehicle(CBS). Kelley had previous run in with the law; he was court marshaled in 2012 for assaulting his now ex-wife and her child. When asked about Kelley his high school classmate said he was "disturbed, judgmental, unfriendly, and unstable. They said his most recent social media posts were dark"(CBS). The police found no specific motive.
LAS VEGAS SHOOTING
The Las Vegas shooting was a night of great loss, with 58 people killed and 546 injured. Las Vegas is the most deadly mass shooting perpetrated by an individual,Stephan Paddock. Stephan Paddock check into the Mandalay Hotel that was 0.3 miles away from the music festival, in the first 15 minutes of him shooting he had already fired 1,100 rounds. By the next hour he shot 22,000 bullet into the crowd with a bump for stock. A bump fir stock is accessory that will change a semi-automatic to a fully-automatic(Wikipedia). Paddock has never had and alteration with the law before the shooting and there is no clear motive to this shooting are to peculiar actions(NYTimes).
